Gerber Knife Pen blade - the pen blade is the smallest blade on a multi-bladed knife. Knives have been used as weapons and tools since the stone age, and various developments include the sword and the machete. The idea is that the metal is hard enough to maintain an edge but not so hard that it is brittle, which can cause it to chip or crack.

This grind is also expensive to make, as the maker is required to remove a lot of metal. Carbon monoxide is given off from the heated coke just as in the blast furnace and reduces the oxides of the ore to metallic iron. There is no belly per se, so slicing can be awkward, and this is not the best format for general utility use since a belly is so useful for that. In these larger furnaces, the iron ore in the upper part of the furnace was first reduced to metallic iron and then took on more carbon as a result of the gases forced through it by the blast.

Gerber Knife Articles

At least as importantly, the sabre grind is faster and cheaper to produce than a flat grind, important when many knives have to be turned out. One note, the point of the knife becomes less sharp the larger the belly is. Read more about Gerber Knife Here.
