Need Knives? Gerber Has Them
Gerber Legendary Blades was established in 1939. They have been making quality and innovative blades for close to 70 years. Based in Portland, Oregon, famous designers have always been making blades for Gerber. Knives made by these designers generally have special features unique to Gerber. Some features you might want to know are the push button locking Paul knives (by Paul Poehlmann), the bolt action locking knives (by Blackie Collins), and the front opening action of the multitools.
Gerber not only leads the market in quality designed blades, they are also known for using new materials and methods to produce their blades. These innovative designs are unique to their knives. Gerber has a genius design team that leads the industry with such features as ATS 34 and AUS 8 high carbon stainless steels (a better quality than the 440 which is usually used), very tough injection molded Hytrel handles, and for a much better grip, Kraton rubber molded onto the handles.
Gerber Knives Are Everywhere
Gerber knives come in many different models generally known to knife collectors and survivalists only, but some of their knives are better known than you may think. The Gerber Guardian has to be one of the most famous knives ever; sported by Tomb Raider, Lara Croft. You may have seen the knife being used during the movie and in the video game. Its finish is in a non-reflective black and it has a double edged-blade. For a nonslip grip, the Guardian also has a Santoprene rubber coating. Not only did Lara Croft use this knife in her many escapades, but Sam Fisher of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell also used the Guardian knives. Gerber created the style over 20 years ago, who knew that it would become so popular?
Along with the Guardian, the Gerber Mark II and the Gerber multitool are some of the more famous knives. The Mark II was brought to the eyes of viewers everywhere when it was used by Mel Gibson in Mad Max 2 and was featured in Aliens.
These knives have been an integral part of video game and movie history, so go make them a part of yours.
