Gerber Knives News

A forged blade is created by heating the metal and pounding it into shape. Even multitools are often frowned upon, due to their having relatively large blades and/or locking ability. Since moly is an expensive element useful for high-speed steels, and knife blades do not need to be high speed, removing the moly hopefully drastically decreases the price of the steel while at least retaining ats-34s performance.

Gerber Knives Facts In the basic oxygen process, steel is also refined in a pear-shaped furnace that tilts sideways for charging and pouring. He does this by heating that part of the blade usually abouttoinches, or 15. Quench tank - a large metal container full of oil, the steel is submerged in the quench tank after it has been shaped. A more stainless steel is h-1, which is low in carbon while high in manganese, nickel, and sulphur, and contains nitrogen as well.
