 Because of the fumes and dust created by the smithing process, the smithy must be well ventilated. The hollow grind expands non-linearly as you go up the blade, the sabre grind expands linearly but very quickly. So im razor polishing the plain edge part, often on a 1200 grit diamond stone or even 6000 grit japanese water stone, and then stropping it. These alloys such as stellite 6k, boye dendridic cobalt, and talonite are much more expensive to work than steel, but tests are showing excellent results.
