Cold Steel
Marketed as the world's "Strongest, Sharpest Knives", Cold Steel was started in the 1980's by Lynn Thompson. Thompson is an avid outdoorsman, big game hunter and self defense expert. The company first became known for the Tanto-styled knives they produced. These knives were driven through car doors and 55 gallon steel drums to show the point strength and durability of the blade to emphasize their toughness. Durability and cutting power have always been goals of Cold Steel
Today, Cold Steel produces dozens of knife designs, ranging from small folders to Bowie knives and kukris. They also do a full line of Medieval weaponry, including axes, warhammers, swords and spears. Cold Steel knives are made in Japan, Taiwan and the U.S. using both stainless and high carbon cutlery steels. |
