David Yellowhorse®
- Born in 1956, David Yellowhorse
is a uniquely talented fourth generation Native American silversmith
whose reputation for creating handmade tribal works of art has brought
him recognition throughout the cutlery industry, and the world. David
began working out of his father’s jewelry shop, The Trading Post, at an
early age. By fifteen, he began working extensively not only in silver,
but also in gold and semi-precious stones. Navajo family trades are
passed on from generation to generation; heritage and traditions have a
very strong influence on the Navajo culture, and this shows strong in
Davids work. Handmade creations as well as limited edition production
pieces are highly sought after by serious collectors.
David has enjoyed silver smithing and inlays since the age of 12. In
this recent creative works, he has applied his hand to designs on a
Zippo lighter. David, likes the shape and the great quality in the
finish of this USA made lighter. David hand cut his design into the
lighters finish, with a high speed dental burr, which he calls carving.
These are a limited edition of David's work with only 250 made.
