Got my new knife yesterday and I have got to say this is a great EDC. Built well, fit and finish is spot on, lighter than I expected. great folks at Knifeworks this is my 2nd purchase from them and I'm very satisfied with my knives.

This knife is a tank. It isn't built to be lightweight (there's a different model for that), it isn't built to be tiny (there are other spydie knives for that). This knife is built to take any punishment you can throw at it and still get handed down to your grandkids. The ergonomics are fantastic, the G10 has just the right grip to not slip, and those marvelous full stainless steel liners mean you never doubt the quality or the stability of your blade. The lock takes some break in time, admittedly, but man does it lock up firm. Edge wise, this knife came as expected from Spyderco- hair popping sharp. The tip- now here's a point (pun intended) worth talking about. The Manix 2 ffg has a sturdier tip than any of my other ffg Spyderco knives. Now I'm not saying this knife is a prybar (they make prybars for that), but I have no concerns ocer breaking this tip with moderate to somewhat heavy use. I use my knives, and I can say that this knife is up to everything i throw at it, from preparing dinner to cutting down several small trees (to see if it could). Through it all, it holds an edge very well (CPM S30V) and it can be sharpened without any real hassle- if you have problems with sharpening it, may I recommend you check your angle and/or the grit... All in all I can't recommend this knife enough, especially at thisnprice point. There are several options available, so if weight or steel is of interest, you aren't Spydie- I mean pigeon holesd in only one knife.
Great EDC option

Overall, the Manix 2 is well designed with great materials and built extremely well.
The one problem (and it's probably just me) is that I can't seem to get a good edge on it. I've sharpened many S30V blades, but this one is special... it just won't take that scary sharp edge that all us knife nuts desire. I've tried four different systems, I get an OK edge, but that's not what I want.
I really do like the Manix 2... I want to "love" it... it doesn't seem to be cooperating with my wishes... oh well.
