The Benchmade Nakamura 484 Axis, Design by Japanese knifemaker Seiichi Nakamura. The Nakamura designed folder features a 3.08 in. modified drop point blade of M390 stainless steel at 60-62 Rc. M390 steel is a high performance blade steel with superior cutting ability and wear resistance created by a high concentration of Vanadium and Chromium carbides. The handle scales are black contoured G-10, over stainless steel liners. G-10 is a fiberglass-based laminate that has solidified itself as the common mainstay for handle material todays knives. Its durable and allows for a good grip, even in the sloppiest conditions. The first Nakamura AXISbrings the best of both worlds: detailed design and functional strength.
